Here's a song from my forthcoming album, "The Only of Whitaker." (It'll be a very short album.) When I wrote this, I was living in a basement apartment in Gramercy with a small, polite, and rather muscular family of cockroaches. When I wasn't busy killing one of them I was tweaking my recording gear and listening to Neil Young's "Hey Hey My My," which I always felt captured something essential about growing up that I couldn't quite put into words.
